Fred, Sr., operated the store until the mid-1980s, running full page ads in the Times-Picayuneunheard of at the time for a small local business. The ads featured Dupont Lucite paint, ladders, window guards, and roller skates! He retired in the early 1980s. His son Rick, the current owner, has maintained it as an old-style and family-run hardware carrying hard-to-find items and offering expert customer service no longer found in most retail stores.
